How does Better Business help in business professionalization?

The program is intended for entrepreneurs, business owners, and successors who want to improve their businesses through education and mentorship by leading industry experts, using practical tools and local case studies.

Each participant creates a program tailored to their needs. In addition to 6 mandatory modules, participants choose 2 elective modules. The modules are selected based on the business needs of the participants in consultation with a mentor.
Throughout the entire program, you will work on writing a five-year business strategy for your company with the help of your mentors. The five-year strategy will summarize the experiences and knowledge gained into a practical tool that will guide your business in the years following the completion of the program.
Learn from the best, using the best global practices, but that's not all. It's important to us that in every module, students receive practical tools they can immediately apply to their business. By the end of the program, after 3 years, you'll have 30 practical tools in your hands, developed within a strategic plan, that will help you in the further development of your business.
During the program, the focus is on solving your specific problems and challenges. In addition to experienced instructors and a toolbox, participants write project papers for each module where they address concrete business problems they face. While working on these projects, participants receive support from leading instructors through consultations and have the opportunity to hear about the challenges and solutions of their peers from the same cohort.
In parallel with acquiring new knowledge, applying business tools, and working on projects, there are 36 consultations with mentors over the course of 3 years. Mentors are there to track an individual's development from the beginning to the end of the program, and to provide support in business development. Why make mistakes that can cost you dearly? It's better to consult with experts and learn from the experiences of others.
At the Better Business program, you will make contact with 150+ business people with similar values and interests from all business sectors, and potentially create new business opportunities. You get access to Mokrogorska's alumni events and support in finding suitable partners and clients within the Mokrogorska system, which includes 250+ business people and several thousand managers.

What does a day in the program look like?

An integral part of the Better Business program experience is learning that takes place in the environment of Mećavnik, in Mokra Gora. The modules offer an opportunity for focused learning, inspiration for participants, and group bonding.

Year 1

Mokra Gora

Management

The module is focused on mastering basic managerial activities through planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, making decisions, and managing teams and the organization.

Strategic Management

In this module, students learn how to use tools necessary for internal and external business and market analysis, how to define a mission, vision, and business goals, and ultimately, how to achieve them through the implementation process.

Applied Economics

Students will understand the importance of tracking current developments in economics and politics within the macro environment of their business, learn how to follow market trends, monitor competition, and how these changes impact their business environment.

Year 2

Mokra Gora

Communications Management

The module is designed to start with intrapersonal communication and approach various models and situations of interpersonal communication, including elements of effective argumentation and persuasion skills.

Financial Management

In this module, participants will gain insight into how we measure business success, when we can confidently determine whether our operations are successful or not, which tools are available to effectively monitor our business, and what the process of planning, budgeting, and financial control looks like.

Marketing management

The topics of this module begin with the basics of marketing and research and continue through creating a marketing strategy and budget, brand management, and up to defining integrated marketing activities and campaigns using practical tools for this business area.

3rd year (choose from 2 modules)

Mokra Gora and Belgrade

Leadership

In this module, participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of leadership with insights and advanced techniques they have not yet encountered or applied in practice. They will not only gain essential theoretical knowledge about leadership but also have the chance to activate and develop their leadership skills.

Innovation management

Upon completing this module, participants will view themselves and their organizations differently and will be able to implement improvements in their operations. They will also understand how value is created through innovations in domestic and international markets, as well as the skills required for success in today’s competitive and global environment.

Human resources management

This module will teach participants effective methods of strategic human resource management – from staff selection, through their development and rewarding, career advancement, to the principles and importance of the HR function as a strategic business partner in companies, institutions, and organizations.

Business Law

You will learn how to map the legal environment relevant to organizations and identify potential legal consequences that could result in significant costs or open new business opportunities.

Business negotiation

After the module, participants will master basic skills and techniques used in negotiation situations, as well as communication and persuasion skills through role plays and case studies.

Sales management

Participants will be able to master the processes of sales management, organization, and customer management, as well as sales skills and management, all aimed at successfully achieving sales results and creating a strong market position for the company.

Project management

After this module, participants will become familiar with project management requirements through numerous practical exercises and selected real-world examples. Using case studies from domestic and international business, these clearly and vividly present modern techniques and tools for successful project management.

Technology and Business Development

You will learn how new technologies impact business strategy and processes, and how to practically apply them to achieve better business results.

During the program, each participant writes a development strategy for their business. This strategy is refined after each module through project work.
